The Birthday Update

Hi everyone. It's been so long since I have been able to let you know how things are going. No news is good news though, huh? The past month has been a strange one. I've pretty much been testing my limits as much as I can to fit lots of fun into my final month off before the next set of scans.

'Scuse the crack.
I've been to Spain to tan up. I went clubbing for the first time since September. I went to Thorpe Park with my brother. I've caught up with lots of friends, something I really struggled with when I was at my worst. It's been truly eventful.

But today is my birthday. A whole day dedicated to me. Shame about the rain though. I've got a brilliant day planned - brunch with my cousins, Dan and Claire, followed by the Mario Kart drinking game (don't ask...) and then out for dinner with the rest of the family. I'm a happy Josh. The postman came with a fistful of cards.

We need a bigger fireplace...
And today marks the final day of the 'Josh For Laughs' fundraiser. It was an incredible night at the JW3 venue in Hampstead. Five excellent comedians kindly gave up their time to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. There was also a raffle and silent auction.

The final amount raised has blown my mind. I'm gobsmacked (gobsmacked is a great word, don't you think?) and so proud. Our close family friend, Ros Marks, amazingly put together a truly successful evening. Thank you to everyone who came and/or donated. Your support has been a real factor that kept me going through everything.

Ready for the final figure? Are you sure?
WHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!?!?!
We absolutely smashed the target of £12,000. All money will go straight to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to research new treatments and one day a cure to blood cancers.

That's just a slice of what has happened in the past 30 days. It marks the end of my 'Wait and See' period. I had a PET scan yesterday to see whether that ominous shadow in my lung is cancerous or not. Tomorrow morning, at 10am, we will know. It's impossible for me to guess the outcome, so I'm going in with an open mind. This could be either the restart of my life or possibly a sign of the end. Keep an eye on the blog to find out. No matter the outcome, I will post it.
